A RELAXED AND WELCOMING DRESS CODE

Our aim is to provide a high quality golfing and social experience for all our members and visitors.

Dress code is an important part of this experience.

We are mindful of the standards traditionally associated with private members golf clubs. However we feel that, given the significant commercial and social challenges facing our club, the introduction of ‘a relaxed and welcoming dress code’ is an appropriate change to make at this time to improve the quality of the Eaglescliffe Golf Club experience for all users.

Specifically, the new dress code, with immediate effect, will be as follows:

1. CLUBHOUSE – SMART CASUAL
Any smart or smart casual clean clothing is acceptable (including denims, trainers and collarless shirts). No need to tuck shirts in or wear socks with sandals. Please remove your cap before entering the clubhouse.

2. COURSE – STRICTER DRESS RULES
Players must be smartly dressed at all times when on the course. Shirts must have collars and, for men, be tucked in. Golfing footwear must be worn. Shorts must be tailored but can be worn with any length of sport socks. Ladies are permitted to wear capped or sleeveless tee shirts.
The following items of clothing must not be worn on the golf course – blue denim clothing, cargo and combat trousers, football or beach shorts, track or shell suits, vests and football or rugby style shirts. Headwear should be worn in the appropriate manner i.e. not back to front.

3. MOBILE PHONES
Everyone is requested to put their phones ‘on silent’ in the clubhouse. No phone calls should be made or received in the Braid Lounge, Cleveland Lounge, Dining Room, 19th Hole or on the course.
(The seating area next to the putting green is not the course)
The Club retains the right, at their discretion, to ask anyone wearing clothing deemed unacceptable to leave the clubhouse or course.
Thank you, in anticipation, for your co-operation in this matter. We hope it will help you enjoy a high quality golfing and social experience at Eaglescliffe Golf Club.
